Hatchet Resort

We stayed mid September so nearing the end of season for the resort. A few menu items were not available due to them winding down inventory. Not an issue for us, but something to keep in mind. Be patient with the staff. The room was spacious and had beautiful wood furniture. Same with the restaurants on site. The staff was friendly and everything was clean and convenient. The food was really good and the view of the mountains at sunset from the resort is lovely. Cell service wasn't great which they were upfront about. The rooms do have nice TVs to watch at the end of a long day of hiking and exploring. The room was priced high for what it offered but I understand that is due to the convenient location to GTNP. The drive from the resort to GTNP is beautiful. Oxbow Bend wasn't far from the resort and a great place to see the sunrise. We would book there again.

I absolutely loved my stay here at Hatchet Resort. I came from Oklahoma and stayed 4 nights. The rooms were clean. The property was clean and everyone from the cleaning crew to the chefs and the kitchen to the front desk. People were also very friendly my dog even made a friend here and loved being able to run around, I got the standard room and it was very cute and cozy and was able to relax comfortably after a long days at Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The fan was sufficient enough to keep the room cool and there is heat available at night if you get too cold, there’s no air-conditioning so I think me coming in September was the perfect time . The view of the Tetons, every day was amazing. I’ve read reviews about the food being pricey but honestly it’s no different than anywhere else to go and the quality is incredibly great. I would hands-down come here again with no hesitation. thank you hatchet resort for making my experience so great.

I really enjoyed my stay here at The Hatchet. The suite was incredibly comfortable and well-equipped (including a jacuzzi!) while still maintaining a traditional log cabin atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is also nice with proximity to Grand Teton NP and its own little meadow. I liked the addition of the two restaurants within the resort. The only problem was that the microwave did not work.

The location is super handy and the price we paid for the night was fair for the area. The room is pretty to look at but ours was in an unsavoury location- next to the trash and closest to the highway. I asked if an alternative was available but was told there was no vacancy. This seemed unlikely given how few cars were parked outside the rooms. The count did not increase in the late evening or early morning. The other disappointment was the shower. The water pressure was so weak it took forever to get wet and nicer all at once. The lack of water might explain the tissue thin towels but that in turn made me worry about how well / often the excessive bedding is laundered. The food at the Whetstone only mediocre and the service was poor. The view of the Tetons is fun tho not spectacular.

We booked here this summer. But they overbooked and needed to move us. Normally for this inconvenience they pick up the cost. Not these guys they book you at another hotel using your own credit card. Didn't believe they could do this. This is after I had confirmed the reservation a few days earlier. Then with all that they talk to you over the phone like it is a privilege to do business with them. Not good honest people. I would just book somewhere else where they appreciate your business.
